VW and Ford makes Cars that get 75 MPG - U.S. government won't allow the sales of them in U.S.

For a long time I have known that car manufacturers could make more efficient vehicles but do not due to the oil companies. I did not realize it was actually the U.S. government that has stopped the better engines from being sold in the U.S. Even this administration who talked big about better mileage during the 2008 campaign has stopped these engines from being sold here.

The only way to get these engines in cars here is by people becoming aware of the fact there are cars that are being made that get 78 MPG. We need to call and demand the access to them. What is absolutely disgusting is that these cars are made in the factories in the U.S. and are shipped overseas.

The government has kept us from them due to the taxes they get on gas and that amount of taxes would drop dramatically with better gas mileage cars.

WE THE PEOPLE HAVE A RIGHT TO THE BEST MILEAGE CARS POSSIBLE! IT IS SUPPOSE TO BE OUR GOVERNMENT DOING THE BEST FOR US! WELL LETS DEMAND THEY DO THEIR BEST FOR THE PEOPLE AND NOT FOR THEMSELVES AND THE OIL COMPANIES!

One other thing, with oil at 96 per barrel right now - our gas prices should actually be in the low 2 dollar range NOT the mid 3 dollar range! We are being raped in every which way right now and our money is being sucked out from us in all ways to go to the government and the corporations.
